Dr. Unnati Jain
Dr. Unnati Jain is a founder of Vitamin T Home health therapy services based in Mumbai, India. Gaining over 8 years of experience in the field of Occupational therapy, her areas of expertise include occupational therapy for varied neurological conditions in adults and children.
Experience
Unnati has worked in India and the US in a variety of medical & educational settings including clinics, schools, & hospitals.
She gained her initial experience at a Pediatric clinic & Saifee hospital in Mumbai. She was associated with Ghatkopar Brahman Samaj as a consultant Neuro occupational therapist from 2015 to 2017.
Later, she worked in two US-based companies where she helped children and adults with a varied neurological diagnosis like stroke, motor neuron disease, spinal cord injury, balance issues, learning disabilities, autism, & sensory difficulties. She held her private practice in home health settings from 2014 to 2020 before she founded Vitamin T Home health therapy services.
Currently, she is also associated with the Rotary Medical Center (Borivali east) to help reach occupational therapy services for the low socioeconomic patient population.
Unnati has also worked as a research assistant with Dr. Lisa Aziz Zadeh at Brain and Creativity Institute at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. Under her direction, the A-Z Lab examines social cognitive neuroscience questions using brain imaging techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and electroencephalography (EEG).
Education
Unnati holds a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from the renowned University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles in 2017-2018. She did her Bachelors in Occupational Therapy from the prestigious Seth, G.S. Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital in 2009-2014.
Training
Besides her formal education in Occupational therapy, she has also attended various training programs and workshops. She has gained hands-on clinical training in Sensory Integration at Pediatric Therapy Network, Los Angeles, USA and attended a workshop on Kinesio Taping (Advanced) by Kinesiotaping Association International. She is certified in Myofascial Release Techniques & has done an Advanced Certificate Course on Physical Agent modalities as an adjunct to Occupational Therapy. Unnati also keeps engaging in various case discussions & workshops for continuous learning, such that she can be an effective resource in helping her clients in their journey as well.
Interest
Apart from being an Occupational Therapist, Unnati loves to read and occasionally writes blogs. She believes stories have the power to heal. Through her blog, using tools like ‘narratives’ and ‘therapeutic use of self’ she tries to provide her clients a holistic & positive approach towards healing and independence. Besides her interest in writing, she loves to sing & play the piano.
